Description
SICILIAN VERDELLO LEMON: CHARACTERISTICS AND PROPERTIES
The Sicilian Verdello lemon is purely Sicilian, grown in the Syracuse area, on the slopes of Etna and near the sea, by small local producers, fully respecting the environment.
It is characterized by being the “summer lemon” and derives from the third flowering of the Syracusan feminine lemon, available in the winter season. Thanks to this flowering we have a Sicilian lemon typical of the summer season.
Compared to the feminine lemon, in addition to the different color of the peel (green rather than yellow), it differs in that it contains less juice, but despite this it has peculiar characteristics that make it unique in its kind.
Its intense green peel and fragrant fragrance and its juice with a slightly acidic taste, rich in vitamins and minerals make it a special ingredient to enrich and garnish your summer recipes with its slices: granitas, sorbets, cocktails , salads, risottos seasoned with lemon, oil and mint, fish dishes. Also excellent squeezed for a thirst-quenching drink.
