Production: Sicilian avocado is produced in the areas of Catania and Trapani. The warm climate typical of Sicily allows the cultivation of this typically tropical fruit. The harvest of avocados begins in late October. Full ripeness is perceptible to the touch as it has a soft consistency.

Characteristics: The Sicilian avocado has a rounded shape, dark green in color and the skin is rough to the touch. This avocado variety is the tastiest thanks to the rich and creamy pulp. It is a fruit that is eaten raw, in fact it is often used in salads and can be added to dishes only after cooking to better preserve its flavor. We recommend it spread on a slice of bread with salmon, a delicacy.

Properties: avocado is very nutritious and energetic, it is rich in potassium and folic acid, it is a source of vitamin B6, it is also rich in antioxidants.
