SICILIAN ALMOND PASTES WITH ORANGE
Almond pastes are typical sweets of the Sicilian tradition. According to some research, their origins date back to the Middle Ages, and they were initially prepared in some Sicilian monasteries. The custom of mixing almonds and sugar together, however, was already common among the Arabs who conquered the island.
A few simple ingredients such as Sicilian almonds, sugar, egg whites and natural Sicilian citrus flavors make these desserts unique and unmistakable.
In particular, in this variant that we propose, the almonds are mixed with orange paste obtained from the juice of the organic oranges of Azienda Scollo, so they have a unique and genuine aroma and flavour.
They are ideal to eat for all occasions: their refined appearance allows them to be served after a formal lunch or dinner, but at the same time they are ideal for a small relaxing break, together with a hot drink and in pleasant company accompanied by coffee, wine sweets or liqueurs.
