NOPAL EDIBLES: HOW ARE THEY HARVESTED?<\/span><\/h2>\n

At the Scollo Company, the Nopals<\/strong> are carefully harvested, manually selecting the fresh and tender cladodes<\/strong>, bright green in color and no longer than 20-30 cm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The peculiarity of our edible Nopals<\/strong> is the fact that we grow them without using pesticides<\/strong> and they are certified organic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In line with the principles of environmental sustainability<\/strong> and with the aim of guaranteeing products that are always fresh, genuine and of the highest quality<\/strong>, our company policy does not require the cladodes to be despined before hand<\/strong>! Our goal is, in fact, to let our customers taste the fresh product as if it had just been harvested.
<\/strong><\/p>\n

THE FOOD USES OF NOPALS: HOW TO COOK THEM?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Once thornless<\/strong>, Nopals<\/strong> can be used like any other type of vegetable or to prepare juices and smoothies<\/strong>, excellent as food supplements. Here’s how to cook them for a healthy and genuine dish:<\/p>\n

WEAR GLOVES<\/p>\n

<\/strong>1. Using a potato peeler or a very sharp knife, remove the areas with the thorns on the flat part and all around the blade;
2. Wash them and make sure you have removed all the thorns;
3. Cut the blades into cubes, put everything in a pot, cover completely with water and bring to the boil;
4. Add a little salt and two tablespoons of white vinegar for about 6 blades;
5. Boil for about 30 minutes;
6. Drain everything and rinse with cold water.
7. READY TO BE ENJOYED:<\/strong> you can season them and eat them in a salad, or saut\u00e9 them in a pan, add them to omelettes etc.<\/p>\n
